CHILDHOOD IS A LUXURY

Ahmetin ja Aysen äiti on kuollut. Heidän isänsä on mennyt uudelleen naimisiin, ja niinpä he asuvat vanhan isoisänsä luona. Isoveli Ahmet pitääkin huolta pikkusiskostaan Aysesta, sisaruksilla on vain toisensa. Elämä ei ole heille helppoa, ja tulevaisuus on epävarma. Heidän isoisänsä on huonossa kunnossa, joten lapsille täytyy löytää toinen asuinpaikka. Pääsevätkö lapset muuttamaan tätinsä luo Saksaan vai miten heidän käy? Atalay Tasdiken (s. 1964) on ammatiltaan opettaja mutta armeijan suoritettuaan hän ryhtyi työskentelemään mainonnan parissa; hän on ohjannut paljon mainoksia. Mommo the bogeyman on hänen ensimmäinen pitkä elokuvansa. Ohjaamisen lisäksi Tasdiken on kirjoittanut ja tuottanut elokuvan.

Ahmet's and Ayse's mother has passed away. Their father has remarried, so the children live with their old grandfather. Big brother Ahmet takes care of his sister Ayse - they only have each other. Life isn't easy, and their future is uncertain. The grandfather is in a bad shape, so another home has to be found for the children. What will happen to them? Will they be able to move to their aunt's house in Germany? Mommo the bogeyman is a harsh portrayal of how tough a child's life can sometimes be. Sometimes it is easier to be afraid of the bogeyman than the reality.

Atalay Tasdiken (b. 1964) is a teacher by education, but he started working with advertisements after going to the army. He has directed numerous advertisements. Mommo the bogeyman is his first feature. He has not only directed the film but also written and produced it.
