Tomas on poika, jonka suhteet koulutovereihin ovat katkenneet, lähijengiin häntä ei kelpuuteta ja isäkin juo. Äiti muutti Ruotsiin Tomasin ollessa pieni. Raskainta Tomasille on pettyminen isään ja tämän lupauksiin. Sen rinnalla koulukodin oppilaiden johtohahmon Patun organisoima kiusaaminen on pienempi ongelma. Se hoituu olemalla vielä vähän rankempi, voittamalla muiden kunnioitus. Perusluottamuksen pettämisen jälkeen ei kukaan enää pääse lähelle Tomasia, lukuun ottamatta veriveli Patua, jonka tie on uhman, väkivallan ja kuoleman tie.

Tomas is a boy who has broken relationships with his class mates, who won’t be accepted into the neighbourhood gang, and whose dad drinks. His mom moved to Sweden when he was little. The hardest thing for Tomas has been that he has been disappointed by his father and his broken promises. Compared to that the bullying organized by the gang-leader Patu at the reform school is only a minor problem. And that can be taken care of by being as hard as you can and by winning the respect of others. After having his trust broken, Tomas lets nobody close, except the blood brother Patu, whose life has been full of defiance, violence and death.

Tomas is a film about total loneliness and lack of trust.
