ERÄMAAN KUTSU 3D | Call of the wild 3D

Upeisiin Montanan talvimaisemiin sijoittuva 3D-elokuva Erämaan kutsu kertoo 10-vuotiaasta bostonilaistytöstä Ryanista. Hän joutuu vasten tahtoaan isoisänsä Billin luokse vuoristoseudulle vanhempien matkustellessa Euroopassa. Aluksi kaupunkilaistyttö ei ymmärrä, mitä järkeä on elää maalla. Bill keksii hyvän keinon näyttää tytölle maaseudun kauneus. Hän alkaa lukea Ryanille Jack Londonin kirjaa Erämaan kutsu, jossa seikkailee Buck-koira. Eräänä iltana ulkoa kuuluu outoja ääniä...

Richard Gabai on  New Yorkissa syntynyt independent-elokuvantekijä. Hän kuitenkin varttui Etelä-Kaliforniassa, missä hän myös suoritti journalismitutkinnon. Nykyään Gabai asuu vaimoineen ja lapsineen Los Angelesissa. Festivaalilla esitettävän elokuvan lisäksi hänen ohjauksiaan ovat muun muassa Moto-x-kids, Miracle dogs too sekä Popstar. Call of the wild 3D on Gabain ensimmäinen 3D-elokuva. Elokuva on palkittu kanadalaisella Audience Awardilla.

The 3D film Call of the wild that takes place in the spectacular winter landscape in Montana is about a 10-year-old girl called Ryan from Boston. She has to go live with her grandfather Bill in the mountains while her parents are on a trip to Europe. At first, the city girl doesn't understand the sense in living in the country side. Bill comes up with a great idea to show the girl how beautiful the countryside really is. He reads Jack London's book Call of the wild about the adventures of the dog Buck to her. Then, one night, strange noises are coming from outside...

Richard Gabai is an independent film maker who was born in New York. However, he grew up in Southern California, where he got his degree in journalism. Nowadays Gabai lives in Los Angeles with his wife and children. In addition to Call of the wild that is shown at the Festival, he has directed, among others, the films Moto-x-kids, Miracle dogs too and Popstar. Call of the wild 3D is his first 3D film. The film has won the Canadian Audience Award.
