KYLÄ KUMMAIN KOURISSA | A town called panic

Kreisin huumorin ystäville! Älä ota liian vakavasti! Herra Hevosella on syntymäpäivä. Siitäkös hänen asuinkaverinsa Intiaani ja Cowboy innostuvat keksimään mahtavan synttäriyllätyksen, minkä jälkeen hulinat vasta alkavatkin. Herrat matkaavat omituisilla vehkeillä eri maailman kolkissa ja jopa läpi maan ytimen. Matkan aikana tapaamme omituisia maan ja meren asukkeja. Tästä hassun hauskasta seikkailusta ei kommelluksia puutu, ja tarinan loppukin on yllätyksiä täynnä. Täysin hulvaton animaatio hipoo surrealismia ja sopii ilopilleriksi sekä lasten että aikuisten makuun.

Ohjaajat Stéphane Aubier ja Vincent Patar ovat menestyneitä animaation tekijöitä. He tapasivat opiskeluaikoinaan, ja jo tuolloin yhteistyön tuloksena syntyi menestynyt oppilasfilmi Pic Pic André show (1988), jolle myöhemmin ilmestyi myös jatko-osia. Tänä vuonna valmistunut Kylä kummain kourissa on heidän ensimmäinen täyspitkä animaationsa. Aikaisemmin elokuvan hahmot ovat seikkailleet suositussa tv-sarjassa ja tarinaan liittyy myös Aubierin vuoden 1991 lopputyö. Aubier ja Patar ovat myös tehneet musiikkivideoita useille yhtyeille, kuten elokuvassa kuultavalle Dionysos-bändille.

For the friends of crazy humour! Don't take this too seriously! Mister Horse has a birthday. His room mates the Indian and the Cowboy come up with a great surprise for him, and after that, things get even crazier. The gentlemen ride in weird machines around the world, and even to its core. During this trip they meet peculiar inhabitants of the land and of the ocean. In this crazy and funny adventure, mishaps are bound to happen, and the story's end is full of surprises, as well. This totally hysterical animation is almost surrealistic, and it will give good laughs to both children and adults.

The directors Stéphanie Aubier and Vincent Patar are successful animators. They met when they were both studying, and even then the co-operation paid off with a successful student film Pic Pic André show (1998), to which they later on made sequels. This year's A Town called Panic is their first animated feature. Previously, the characters of the movie have starred in a popular TV series, and Aubier's diploma work from 1991 connects to that same story. Aubier and Patar have also made music videos for several bands, such as the Dionysos that can be heard in the movie.
