Mistä löytää hyvä noita hallitsemaan maailmaa Surulundan tilalle? Aikaa on vähän. Muuten paha velho Hieronymus saa koko maailman valtaansa. Surulunda lähettää avustajalohikäärmeensä Hectorin etsimään noitaa taikakeinoja käyttämään. Uuden noidan tulee suoriutua vaativista tehtävistä, jotta hän saa suuren taikakirjan voimat haltuunsa. Kömpelö Hector lennähtää taikakirja mukanaan tuiki tavallisen 10-vuotiaan Lillin huoneeseen. Hieronymus puolestaan hypnotisoi aikuisia rakentamaan itselleen laitteen, jolla hän voisi hallita koko maailmaa. Mutta laite ei toimi ilman suurta taikojen kirjaa...

 

Stefan Ruzowitzky (s. 1961 Wienissä) on itävaltalainen elokuvaohjaaja. Hän on opiskellut teatteritiedettä ja historiaa. Ruzowitzky aloitti uransa mainosten ja musiikkivideoiden parissa. Hän on ohjannut sekä käsikirjoittanut kauhuelokuvat Anatomie ja Anatomie 2. Ruzowitzkyn ohjaama elokuva Väärentäjä sai parhaan ulkomaisen elokuvan Oscar-palkinnon vuonna 2008; Väärentäjä perustuu Slovakian juutalaisen Adolf Burgerin muistelmiin toisen maailmansodan ajalta. Noitatyttö Lilli voitti muun muassa saksalaisen Goldener Spatz -palkinnon parhaana elokuvana.

  

How to find a good witch to rule the world on Surulunda's behalf? Time is running out. Otherwise the evil  wizard Hieronymus is going to rule the whole world. Surulunda sends her small and clumsy dragon Hector to find a good-hearted witch. Ten-year-old Lilly is to be the one. But first, she must prove within 99 hours that she is worthy of this burden. In the meantime Hieronymus is hypnotizing adults to build him a great machine, which will help him possess the world. But the machine doesn't work without the Magic book...

 

Stefan Ruzowitzky (born 1961 in Vienna) is an Academy Award-winning Austrian film director and screenwriter. Ruzowitzky has studied drama and history at the University of Vienna. He started his career by directing music videos and commercials. In 2000 he directed the successful German horror film Anatomy, starring Franka Potente, and in 2003 the equally well received sequel Anatomy 2. In 2007, Ruzowitzky's The counterfeiters premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and was nominated for a Golden Bear award. The film is based on the memoirs of Adolf Burger, a Jewish-Slovak typographer and Holocaust survivor involved in Operation Bernhard. The counterfeiters, nominated on behalf of Austrian cinema, won the Oscar at the 80th Academy Awards in 2008. Lilly the Witch - the dragon and the magic book has won the German Goldener Spatz prize for Best Film.
