SCREENED WITH DIY LIFE: THE STORY OF COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY

Heavenly guidance leads Nuusa Niskala to study theology, but she doesn’t like the bustle of Helsinki and moves to the backwoods of Kainuu. The arms of the shepherd are covered with tattoos and her hair is screaming red; it doesn’t take much more to cause murmurs in the house of God.

She gets to hear negative comments about her life choices over and over again. Believers regard her as a heretic of the End times, and punk rockers as a Nazi-like brainwasher.

Nuusa Niskala refuses to segregate people and believes that God can be found where all of kinds of people come together. Nuusa loves Jesus, but also punk. The anarchist priest is the vocalist of a punk band called Seurat, whose songs are hardcore versions of familiar psalms.
